Webinars Feature Associations Changing Volunteerism

Monday, September 9, 2013 - 3:19pm

ASAE's Executive Management Section Council (EMSC) is shedding the light on five associations who dared to reimagine volunteering through a series of webinars in September, October and November. Hear the stories of IEEE, Maryland Association of CPAs, Society of Petroleum Engineers, Aging Network Volunteer Collaborative, and the Financial Planning Association.

At ASAE Annual, the council hosted a conversation on rebuilding the volunteer spirit (get the handouts here). Through the eyes and stories of five associations, we explored how the changing volunteer paradigm became an opportunity to shift governance structures, change member component formats, rethink how to engage younger professionals, and rethink volunteer training. The session was developed by the EMSC as part of the Rebuilding the Volunteer Spirit innovation project, we looked at the new definition of volunteerism, its impact on associations, and how you can respond. We continue the conversation with a deeper look at each of these stories. All webinars are free – thanks to the generosity of Higher Logic and our team of presenters.
